I'm a student at Dawson College in the Studio Arts program. Starting in September, I will be a Concordia student enrolled in a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. My work has been created during the winter session 2023, and its titled: Nxde.

My piece is a mix of acrylic, oil paint, pouring acrylic, and decorations such as rhinestones, faux leather textures, translucent fabric and feathers. All these materials are collaged on a canvas 18 x 24 inches.

The purpose of my work is to showcase the objectivation of women by men. The idea is to initially cover the bodies of the cabaret dancers with a fabric to protect them from the staring eyes of men. When the clothes of the dancers are removed, there is a quote that states: "The pervert is you..." The quote reminds us that women are not objects of men's desires.

The disproportion of different parts of the body, especially the upper body, and the red colour all relate in my piece to showcase seduction. My work was inspired by the film Moulin Rouge, by the actress Marilyn Monroe and the song Nxde from G-Idle.
