As an artist, I enjoy creating mixed media pieces that have some aspect of abstraction incorporated. I will continue to study Studio Arts outside of Dawson at Concordia University this fall semester.
The materials I used to create my piece include an 18x24 canvas, acrylic paint, string and clay.
The purpose of my work is to showcase the struggles people have with their own identity, how it is difficult to find out who they truly are and where they fit in the most. A person's identity constantly changes as they age and experience life, therefore having a concrete idea of who you are will always be difficult to find.
This piece is influenced by my own observations as I often see people of all ages struggle with who they are and want to be. The little bits of colour symbolize our identity slowly loading in, how we will not know who we truly are right away.
